Donogh Hennessy

Guitar, Engineering
Donogh Hennessy is an Irish guitarist and music producer, renowned for his work in traditional Irish music. He gained prominence as one of the founding members of the iconic band Lúnasa, which revolutionized the genre by fusing traditional Irish melodies with modern arrangements. With Lúnasa, Hennessy helped shape a new, dynamic sound for Irish folk, contributing both as a guitarist and a composer.

Hennessy’s guitar playing is known for its rhythmic precision and innovative accompaniment style, which added a fresh dimension to the traditional tunes. His ability to blend intricate fingerpicking with driving rhythms helped define the band’s unique sound, often providing a lively yet grounding foundation to the ensemble’s flute and fiddle-led arrangements. His work with Lúnasa earned him international recognition, leading to tours and collaborations with various artists across the globe.

After departing from Lúnasa in 2005, Hennessy continued to influence the music world through production and session work. He has collaborated with numerous artists across different genres, enhancing their projects with his distinctive style. His contributions to Irish music, both as a performer and a producer, remain influential, solidifying his reputation as a key figure in modern Irish folk music

Alan Murray

Guitar, Bouzouki, Vocals
Guitarist, bouzouki player and singer Alan Murray hails from Glasgow, Scotland, where he grew up playing the whistle and later guitar. Eventually moving to New York City, he has established himself as an in-demand performer and teacher on the Irish music scene.

He currently plays and tours around the world with many of the finest traditional musicians and acts today, including Niall and Cillian Vallely, Eileen Ivers, Colin Farrell, Paul Brock, and Battlefield Band,

Alex Borwick

Engineer
Alex Borwick is a versatile musician and sound engineer known for his work with the banjo, trombone, and other instruments. Originally from New Zealand, Borwick’s musical journey has taken him across genres, including bluegrass, jazz, and folk. His proficiency on the banjo has earned him a reputation as a skilled player in both traditional and contemporary styles, while his multi-instrumental talents have seen him perform with various ensembles, contributing to diverse musical projects.

In addition to his musicianship, Borwick is also an accomplished sound engineer and producer. He has worked on a wide range of recordings, from live performances to studio albums, bringing technical expertise and a keen ear for detail. His engineering work is highly regarded for capturing the nuances of acoustic instruments, particularly in traditional and roots music.

Borwick has collaborated with numerous artists, both as a performer and an engineer, across the globe. His deep understanding of both the artistic and technical sides of music allows him to create recordings that resonate with authenticity and clarity. Whether on stage or behind the mixing desk, Alex Borwick’s contributions continue to influence and elevate the world of acoustic and roots music, making him a respected figure in both areas.

Barry Kerr

Guitar, Bouzouki, Vocals, Flute, Pipes, Artwork

Originally from the southern shores of Lough Neagh in County Armagh but now living and working in Dublin, Barry Kerr is one of Ireland’s most accomplished artists. As a highly regarded singer, flute player, uilleann piper, songwriter and painter he is extremely prolific in his creative output.

His songs and compositions have been recorded internationally by renowned artists Karan Casey, Flook, Beoga, Brian Finnegan, Damian O’Kane & Kate Rusby, to name but a few. Barry is also a painter and has become an important figure in contemporary Irish art, exhibiting at home and abroad to high critical acclaim. His recent work has explored the concept of relating visual art with musical performance and composition, as seen in his latest exhibition/performance ‘Continuum’.

Eoghan Scott

Guitar, Vocals
Eoghan Scott is a talented guitarist and singer known for his versatile performances and songwriting abilities. Originally from Ireland, Scott has been active in the music scene, blending genres such as folk, rock, and pop. His distinct guitar style, characterized by both fingerpicking and rhythmic strumming, complements his soulful and expressive voice, making him a captivating live performer.

As a singer-songwriter, Scott draws inspiration from a wide range of musical influences, from traditional Irish music to modern indie folk, which allows his sound to appeal to a broad audience. His original compositions often explore themes of love, nature, and personal reflection, delivered with heartfelt emotion and melodic charm.

Scott’s musicianship has led him to collaborate with various artists, both in live performances and studio recordings, where he has contributed his skills as a guitarist, vocalist, and arranger. His ability to adapt to different musical settings and genres has made him a sought-after collaborator, while his solo work continues to develop a dedicated following.

Alison Crossey

Guitar, Bodhrán, Vocals

Alison Crossey is a Bodhrán and Guitar player from Lurgan, Co Armagh. Playing music from a young age she has competed in competitions to County, Ulster and All Ireland levels and went on to teach the Bodhrán to students from her home town for them to reach great Ulster and All Ireland stages. She teaches workshops around the world. Enjoys Recording percussion as a guest musician on many albums and collaborated with many fantastic musicians.

Alison is a member of female trio band Briste who have toured over America and Europe and built an amazing following and in recent years released their debut album sidetracked.

Alison’s music portfolio has seen her be apart of many great projects including Dance show Rhythm of the Dance and complete a world tour with them. She has also toured with an 8 piece girl group from Ireland called Gané and The PJ McDonald Band. In recent years she has enjoyed collaborations and great tours and festivals with band Fourwinds and duo Tom Delaney and Caroline Keane.

Over the years Alison has been fortunate to support and share the stage with some fantastic artists including Four Men and a Dog, PJ McDonald, Francis Black, Flook, North Cregg, The Dublin City Ramblers, Brian Kennedy and Dick Gaughan etc

Teresa Horgan

Flute, whistles and vocals
Teresa Horgan, from county Cork, was immersed in music from a young age, playing whistle, flute and singing with her family and traveling to festivals together throughout the years, having a rich upbringing in Sliabh Luachra music, and other genres.

She previously toured and recorded with award-winning Irish trad group “FullSet” and recorded two critically acclaimed albums during her time with them. She also released a duo album with guitarist Matt Griffin in 2015, called “Brightest Sky Blue”. In a review by Tony Lawless (TradConnect), he described Teresa’s voice as having “just enough world weariness in her vocals to interpret…songs and make them her own”. Teresa is currently embarking on a new solo album, “Amethyst”, which will be released soon.

For the last number of years, Teresa has toured extensively with award-winning Pan-Celtic group “The Outside Track”, with whom she has recorded three studio albums.

She has shared the stage with some of the best in Irish, Scottish and Canadian trad and folk music during her travels in Ireland, the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, America, Canada, South Korea, Australia and more. Teresa has performed in the National Concert Hall in Dublin, and also on Ireland’s acclaimed “The Late Late Show”. Some festivals she has played at include “Celtic Connections” in Glasgow, “Celtic Colors” in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and several other Irish and Scottish music festivals around the world.

Teresa lives in Dingle where she is surrounded by, and performs with, some of the most talented musicians in the country.

Colm Phelan

Bodhrán

Portlaoise-born Colm is one of the founding members of Trad super group “Goitse” who have released six critically acclaimed albums and have an extensive year round touring schedule. He has been playing the Bodhrán since childhood and has been a prominent contender in the All Ireland competition since his earliest years of playing.

He is a winner of numerous medals down through the years with his proudest achievements being the first ever World Bodhran Champion, in Miltown, Co Kerry in 2006, and in the same year winning the All Ireland in Letterkenny for the second year in succession. This back-to-back achievement was closely echoed in his unique multiple Ceili Band drum competition successes. An All Ireland Champion on both Bodhran and Ceili Band drums is no mean feat.

In 2012, Colm released his solo CD “Full Cirlce” which was described as having “thrills and spills by the dozen and is a roller coaster ride of jaw dropping and breath-taking proportions, clearly going where no bodhrán player has gone before” – John O’Regan, Irish Music Magazine Colm graduated with a BA in Irish Music and Dance at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick in 2011 and in MA in Irish Music performance in 2016.

He is one of the most sought after Bodhran tutors in Irish Music. His teaching ability has seen him lead Bodhrán workshops in France, Germany, Finland, Holland, UK, Italy, USA, at Junior Daveys Bodhran School in Sligo and at ‘Craiceann’. In 2016, Colm co-founded the International Bodhrán school “Búla Buzz” alongside Robbie Walsh. The school runs annually in Dublin and attracts students from all over the world.

Laura Kerr

Fiddle

Laura Kerr is a highly-accomplished fiddle player from Lurgan, Co. Armagh. In 2018 she released a widely acclaimed duet album, Castor Bay, with her brother Barry and has recorded as a guest musician on a long list of traditional Irish music albums.

Laura’s driving Northern fiddle style and her tasteful accompaniment of songs is testament to the musical household she grew up in where her parents’ family pub, The Céilí House, played patron to some of Ireland’s finest musicians. Whilst living in Dingle, Co Kerry for almost ten years, she was a member of Séamus Begley’s Síbín Orchestra, a band named after Séamus’s infamous Síbín in Baile na bPoc, West Kerry.

Laura has toured extensively with various bands over the years and she has appeared on and indeed presented TV and Radio programmes on RTÉ, TG4 and BBC.
